Hi! I'm Swedish and I would say we are both collective-oriented and deeply individualistic. Out orientation to the benefit of society as a group can be seen in tax, social security, etc. I pay lots of tax, which goes to society as a whole, which gives back to (for instance) the student who can free themselves from their parents and borrow the money to go study. So in a way it's collective thought as a means to individualism.

As opposed to other societies that are family and friend-centric, where if you get sick you need crowdfunding (ok, one particular country I'm thinking of...) and the social security net is basically missing. Then you as a person have to rely on your immediate collective group, and if you don't have it, then God help you, basically. Born into the wrong family? Too bad! Have an illness? Too bad...
